Roadworks can create potential hazards that can give rise to injury or damage resulting in loss, litigation or prosecution, if reasonable care is not taken to protect both road users and road workers.
Road users are not limited to motorists - they include pedestrians, such as school children and people with disabilities, cyclists and emergency vehicles. Management of work on roads requires consideration of all road user needs and obligations and attention should not focus just on the management of vehicular traffic through, past or around the work site.
Main Roads WA requires that Traffic Management Plans for works involving ‘complex traffic arrangements’ shall be reviewed and endorsed by an accredited Roadworks Traffic Manager (RTM). This also applies for Traffic Management for Events on roads such as Fun Runs and Cycle Races.
David Wilkins is a Main Roads WA accredited Roadworks Traffic Manager and hence can perform the functions of an RTM for roadwork projects and events within WA.
Roadworks Traffic Management client testimonial:
"Rarely, extremely rarely, I come across a person who demonstrates an exceptional level of Professionalism and Skill. David is one of those very rare individuals. I had occasion to assess his work as part of the Main Roads Western Australia re-accreditation program. His work demonstrated a level of attention to detail and professional knowledge I have not seen before. His work was a pure pleasure to read, clearly set out, logical and methodical. Absolutely brilliant stuff."
