Road authorities are responsible for the safe and efficient management of road networks. Land use developments generate traffic movements as people move to, from and even within the development. Without a clear picture of the type of traffic movements (e.g. cars, pedestrians, cyclists, trucks, etc.) or their scale, timing and location, there is a risk that this traffic movement may contribute to safety problems, unforeseen congestion or other problems where the development connects to the road system or elsewhere on the road network.
In order to address the above, approving authorities often request that a development proposal is supported by a “Traffic Study”, “Transport Assessment”, “Traffic Impact Assessment” or “Transport Statement”. Unfortunately not all approving authorities use the correct terminology and it can be confusing determining exactly what is required.
i3 can help you through this process. With your permission, and free of obligation, i3 will discuss your proposed development with the relevant approving authority to determine the requirements and then provide a lump sum fee proposal to undertake the work.
i3 has extensive experience in preparing Transport Statements and Traffic Impact Assessments in accordance with either the WAPC Guidelines (generally the standard in WA) or the Austroads Guidelines (generally the standard in the NT).
Transport Statement client testimonials:
“David has provided highly professional and well-researched transport statements, working within tight timeframes. His work is respected and is reasonably priced."
"Greenhill Engineers have been involved in several projects where i3 were commissioned to undertake Traffic Studies. We found David's work to be top shelf and David, in particular, extremely helpful when it came to resolving traffic/access related issues."
